Way Ahead
|
State Spending
- Curt Schroder believes that state government must live
within its means. Annual spending increases well above the
rate of inflation must STOP! Curt supports limiting annual
state budgets to no more than the rate of inflation over the
previous year.
Cutting Taxes -
Once Pennsylvania controls its overspending, we
will be able to resume our efforts to cut state taxes. Job
crushing state taxes threaten our livelihoods and well being
as a commonwealth.
Property Taxes - Curt
Schroder supports the COMPLETE ELIMINATION of school
property taxes. Curt voted against Act 1, which was later
resoundingly rejected by the voters. Curt realizes that
homeowners deserve real and PERMANENT relief from property
taxes, not phony, half baked "political" solutions offered
in the past.
School Funding - Curt
believes that the current formula used to fund our schools
is fundamentally unfair. The funding formula must recognize
the needs of growing school districts. State funding must
keep pace with the growth in the number of students in the
school district. This can be accomplished by reallocating
existing education funding.
Protecting Our Natural Resources
and Heritage - Curt Schroder believes that more
tools should be provided to save our farms, forests and
natural habitats in Chester County. Those who seek to profit
by building in our countryside have an obligation to do so
in a responsible way that maintains our rural and natural
heritage. Our historic structures ground our future in our
shared past and deserve to be maintained.
Health Care - Curt will
continue his leadership role in reforming health care.
Private sector solutions must be found to bring health
insurance to more people. His efforts to reform health care
for small businesses by prohibiting insurers from using
unfair methods to calculate premiums will help ensure a
healthy market without reliance on government funded and run
health care programs..
